In-house bible studies are held every week Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 10.30 am. The bible studies focus on core values and biblical priciples in a casual atmosphere, allowing residents the opportunity for interactive discussions. The Recovery Bible is used for faith based studies.
The 12 step biblical based program offers a casual group atmosphere. This recovery bible guides residents in a personal reflection and practical application using firm scriptural principles. This program is held on Monday evenings at Cornerstone Church and is also open to others in the community who are overcoming addiciton.
The substance abuse class offers a casual setting; discussing the problems with addiction, including prevention and awareness. This class is held on Monday each week at 4:00 p.m. and is open to other women in the community.
Relapse Prevention is held weekly or as new residents are accepted into Grace Haven. Relapse Prevention is a congnitive-behavorial approach with identifying and preventing high-risk situations such as substance abuse. This is an important component in the process of overcoming addiction.
Trauma healing and counseling is vital. We have found that a high percentage of our clients have experience some type of trauma in their childhood or during their addiction. Trauma can be the
root cause of a person addiction, trauma affects a person holistically. We incorporate Christ centered modalities, healing mind, body and spirit to get to the root.
