Overview

Drug Addiction can be a dark and lonely place.

Addiction is when a person can't stop using. Not when it puts their health in danger. Not when it causes financial, emotional, and other problems for them or their loved ones. That urge to get and use drugs can fill up every minute of the day, even if they want to quit. At first, they may choose to take a drug because they like the way it makes them feel. A drug addict may think

they can control how much and how often they use it. But over time, drugs change how the brain works. These physical changes can last a long time. They make a person lose self-control and can lead to damaging behaviors and end up where they never belonged, such as jails, institutions sometimes, unfortunately, death.

When women leave jails and institutions, some have nowhere to go, nothing to wear and nothing to eat. Some are left with no other choice but to return to the environment and circumstances that they were in previously. Without help and support it was nearly impossible for these individuals to make a break from their old lifestyles. but it's never too late to strengthen a relationship with God while getting the treatment needed to overcome this battle.

Grave Haven Ministries uses a faith-based approach to addiction recovery that can be one of the most effective ways to help addicts and alcoholics find lasting freedom and sobriety. Grace Haven believes that it is important to combine the spiritual component with other programming including education, clinical appointments, relapse prevention, and individual counseling sessions. God has given doctors, nurses and therapist some great insights on the neurological and physiological effects of addiction, therefore we understand that embracing the studies

and findings from secular programs and sources will assist our women without compromising our message of hope. Whether women are suffering from an opiate addiction or any other addiction, Grace Haven is here to help women strengthen their faith during the recovery process.

At Grace Haven, we feel as if they are in a place where the program and staff will give grace for their mistakes AND lead them into successful living. Once someone knows they are accepted despite their shortcomings, they will be inspired to strive for better living. Our approach is

to show the unconditional love of Jesus and the right amount of grace needed to inspire confidence balanced with the right amount of accountability to promote a successful life.

Our mission is to Rescue, Renew, Restore and Return women to family and community after being set free of addiction through the power of Jesus Christ. We encourage their development of self-esteem and attainment of self-sufficiency through our commitment of providing a holistic, safe and supportive environment, and through our programs of housing, advocacy, vocational experience and empowerment.

GRACE HAVEN IS FREE OF CHARGE to all women suffering from addiction and want help to recover from a seemingly hopeless state of a spiritual, physical and mental deficiency due to their drug abuse. These women, who make the decision to start our programs can stay AS LONG AS THEY NEED!!

The Grace House has been in operation since 2007 and is fully funded through the gifts of individuals and area churches who believe there is a great need for a safe living environment that meets the basic needs of women and offering them an opportunity for a new beginning.
